Ian Mikardo and Barclays win top award

Barclays has supported the school for seven years by funding three posts that are central to our nurturing ethos – the Parent Engagement Officer, the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, and the Family Support Worker – and providing a further range of support.

As the Lord Mayor Alan Yarrow announced the winner of his top Dragon Award at the Mansion House ceremony, he spoke passionately about the school’s work and referred to the Channel 5 documentary Too Tough to Teach? which was filmed here in 2014.

Head Teacher Claire Lillis is delighted by the on-going recognition for the school: “I am a strong believer that the way we transform lives is by working in partnership with others,” she says. “This award is a symbol of what can be achieved when the public and private sector work together to support vulnerable people.”
